The VolunteerACT web application was designed and built by UVision Labs, a product research and development business unit of UVision Consulting. As well as rapid development of innovative web experiences and applications, UVision Labs builds complex enterprise applications. To ensure optimal usability and results, UVision Labs studied volunteerism problems & the needs of coordinators and volunteers to create VolunteerACT — focusing on the end user experience & social media marketing to encourage greater participation and results, which is what the web is all about.
Inspired by working with coordinators from local to national levels, we created VolunteerACT for volunteers involved with NOAA, the Department of Commerce and the National Marine Sanctuaries. Realizing the value of this solution at a large scale, we decided to create a web-hosted version to benefit anyone managing volunteers for a cause.
